Each soluble tablet for 26-50 lbs of dogs kills heartworm larvae (microfilaria) and prevents new infections for one month. Nuheart is only effective against immature (larval stage) heartworms within 30 days of infection. Nuheart Green for Medium Dogs is not effective against adult heartworms.
