Nuheart Generic Heartgard for Small Dogs is formulated in the form of small-sized, sweet meat-flavored tablets. Each soluble tablet for up to 25 lbs of dogs kills heartworm larvae (microfilaria) and prevents new infections for one month. Nuheart is only effective against immature (larval stage) heartworms within 30 days of infection. Nuheart Blue for Small Dogs is not effective against adult heartworms.
